Captain
Hugh Mannington M.B.
Mentioned in Despatches
29/11/1945
Captain H Mannington, M.B. (71741) R.A.M.C. attd. 7th Bn.
As Medical Officer to 7 Royal Sussex Regiment from its inception at the outbreak of war, this officer was tremendous in his work and the welfare of the men of this unit. In the constantly changing personnel he was always up to date with his work. The good health of the Battalion owes much to the work of Captain Mannington.
Finally on 18 May when the Battalion was bombed in a train just west of Amiens, this officer though seriously wounded, with the greatest coolness, showing a large degree of devotion to duty. I recommend this officer for Mention in Despatches.
