Lieutenant (RAMC)
Augustus William Carboni
Lt. Carboni’s nephew, Chris HOARE writes...
I discovered your web site whilst doing some research into an uncle who was in the RAMC and died at Pont de Metz outside Amiens on 21 May 1940. I have discovered that on 19 May he was assigned to 7 Bn RSR as a replacement for Capt Mannington who had been wounded. I was particularly interested in seeing a reference to “Doc Mannington” and also the reminiscences of the MO’s batman in the interviews from the May 2000 reunion.
I would love to find out whether there is any more information about what happened to my uncle, Lieut A Carboni, and wonder whether you have access to any records which mention him, or if the former MO’s batman might still be alive and remember anything about him.
